Seven Manchester city-centre pubs have gained recognition at the Manchester Best Bar None awards 2010.

The seven pubs eligible to enter this year’s initiative were all accredited at the awards ceremony, hosted by Terry Christian, which took place at the city’s town hall.

The accredited Wetherspoon pubs are The Ford Madox Brown, The Great Central, The Manchester & County (Piccadilly), The Moon Under Water (Deansgate), The Paramount, The Seven Stars and The Waterhouse.

Both The Manchester & County and The Moon Under Water were also shortlisted as two of the three finalists in the ‘best pub’ category.

The Best Bar None scheme was first piloted in Manchester, in 2003, founded to improve standards in the night-time economy. It has since been adopted by 100 towns and cities across the UK and is now being taken up internationally.
