Staff at The Robert Peel are pictured during the pub’s ‘Bury week’ celebrations.
Dressed as cops and robbers, in reference to the founder of the Metropolitan Police, after whom the pub is named, are (front) shift manager Rob Burgess and team leader Jenny Harvey, with bar associates Simone Burgess and Kieran Murphy behind the bar.
As part of the week-long event, the pub showcased four beers from new Bury-based brewery Brightside Brewing Company, for the first time. The ales served were Brightside best bitter, Darkside stout, Maverick IPA and Solstice golden ale.
Customers could also sample a local dish of black pudding fritters, served with mushy peas.
A charity raffl e had a Bury Football Club shirt and tickets up for grabs. There was a Bury quiz evening – and The Robert Peel took on fellow Bury pub, The Art Picture House in a charity football match.
The week raised £400 for CLIC Sargent and local charity Laura’s Wish.
