His pub, The Kings Tun, in Kingston upon Thames, was voted ‘pub of the season’ winter 2012/13, by the local CAMRA branch members.
A special presentation evening was held at the Surrey outlet and a certificate presented – now on display at the pub.
Dave Oram said: “This seasonal award was introduced in 2010 and is presentedtwice a year to that pub which is seen to have shown the most improvement over the previous six months. This could be anything from beer range or supporting the LocAle scheme to providing a community function or something else completely.
“Located in central Kingston, this popular Wetherspoon pub has taken great strides lately to improve both its beers’ quality and range.
“It now regularly stocks 10–12 ales, many from local breweries, as well as microbreweries from further afield – a very well-deserved award for James and the team.”
James said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been voted as ‘pub of the season’.
“We work hard to ensure the great quality and choice of real ale at The Kings Tun, supporting local breweries as much as possible – and it is lovely to have had that effort recognised.”
