The George, in Wanstead, east London, is the venue for a monthly local arts and crafts fair, following a successful ‘art trail’ exhibition in the area.

The pub is also being used as an ongoing exhibition space for the local Art Group Wanstead, in its newly appointed Upstairs Gallery, displaying works produced by nearby art classes and clubs, as well as local professional and amateur artists.

Event organiser Donna Mizzi said: “The George is conveniently located and welcoming, offering a friendly atmosphere for our art events. It is a fantastic opportunity for our artists and a boon for the area.

“We’re incredibly fortunate that the pub manager, Grant Thompson, (pictured with some of the exhibitors) is so innovative and we are grateful to him and his staff for their support.”
