A man-versus-food charity challenge at The Rhinoceros, in Rotherham, attracted 15 brave contestants and raised £350 for CLIC Sargent.

The competitors were asked to eat a ‘rhino burger’ and drink two pints of fizzy pop, with the winner the first to complete the challenge, organised by pub manager Kirsty Horner and kitchen manager Leanne Vernon.

Mick Rogers consumed in the quickest time of 21 minutes and 54 seconds, with Michael Bell the only other contestant to complete the task, finishing in one hour and 45 minutes.

For the record, the rhino burger consists of two beef burgers, two chicken breasts, four bacon rashers, two cheese slices, one fried egg, two hash browns and six onion rings, in a bun with salad, served with two portions of chips!
