The Robert Ransome is celebrating after scooping a prize at the 2013 Ipswich Best Bar None awards.

The outlet, in the Suffolk town, was voted ‘best pub’ in the annual awards ceremony at the Ipswich Corn Exchange.

The Cricketers was also one of 17 venues, along with The Robert Ransome, accredited for 2013.

Douglas Paxton, chief constable, Suffolk Constabulary, said: “It is a credit to the licensed trade that the Ipswich Best Bar None scheme goes from strength to strength and is now in its third year.”
