Founding freemasons honoured

Members of the freemasons marked their 230th anniversary, in Doncaster, by unveiling a plaque in the place where it all started – The Red Lion.
The Doncaster Free Press newspaper reported that, in 1780, 14 men submitted their names and held their first meeting in The Red Lion pub, resulting in the freemasons opening their first lodge in Doncaster.
