A mini flower festival at The Sawyer’s Arms added £500 to a fund-raising target for a local school.
The Exeter pub staged the event to help the nearby Bowhills Primary School to reach its £1,000 target for a climbing wall.
The school children made flower picture decorations for the festival which included a flower stall, charity raffle, human fruit machine, colouring competition and paper-flower-making activities.
The pub’s manager, Sarah Landfear, said: “This event was the launch of our fundraising commitment to this fabulous community school. We plan to stage various activities, throughout the year, to help it to achieve its total.”
