Wetherspoon regular Eric Greenleaf celebrated his 92nd birthday at his local in Plymouth.

Eric, a daily visitor to The Gog & Magog, is well known by staff and locals at the pub in the Devon town.

He served as a Royal Marine bandsman during 1935–60 and has 11 World War II medals, having served on several ships during the conflicts.

Kelly Bullard, pub manager at The Gog & Magog, said: “Eric pops in every day to say hello. He is the first to get behind any fundraising events, is always the first to give any new members of staff a warm welcome and even has his own chair in the pub.

“He is a lovely man and deserves a special mention. Everyone at The Gog & Magog wishes Eric many happy returns.”
