Both Wetherspoon pubs in Barnsley enjoyed recognition in the South Yorkshire town’s annual Best Bar None awards.
Pub manager Andrew Ibbotson (pictured), at The Silkstone Inn, collected the winner’s trophy in the awards’ ‘pub’ category, while The Joseph Bramah, managed by Ben Paul Dixon, finished third in the ‘bar’ category.
The Silkstone Inn was also voted as ‘overall winner’, across all three categories, including ‘late-night venue’, to cap a successful evening at the awards ceremony, with two trophies.
Andrew said: “This is the first time that the pub has won both awards – and we are all absolutely delighted.
“There is a lot of competition in the town, with so many good venues; so, to be named as the best is something of which we are all proud.”
