The Free Man, in Carlton, near Nottingham, donated £500 to help
with the improvement of the local Christmas tree lights. Pub manager
Jenna Knight hosted the switch-on celebrations, with the Mayor of
Gedling Borough Cllr Bob Collis. There was also carol singing, mince
pies and mulled cider, as well as a buffet and Santa’s grotto, at the pub.

Jenna said: We are a real community pub, with 95 per cent of our staff from
Carlton, so we were all keen to bring the local people together with our festive
celebrations and support the local area with money for the tree lights.
