Two pubs in Paignton joined forces to help a local school to raise money to renovate their playground, after major building works.
Staff at The Isaac Merritt and The Talk of the Town, both in the Devon seaside resort, worked together with parents and staff from Curledge Street Primary School to raise £1,300 for playground equipment.
The group embarked on an 11-mile sponsored walk, from The Richard Hopkins, in Newton Abbot, walking through Kingskerswell and on to Torquay, for a well-earned pit-stop at The Green Ginger.
The route, via the seafront, continued through Preston, past The Talk of the Town and finished at The Isaac Merritt.
Mrs J Humphrey, head teacher at the school, said: “A huge thankyou for all of the hard work, organisation and support which Wetherspoon gave. We are now able to give the children additional equipment. Thanks, on behalf of them and the staff, for your dedication and commitment.”
