The Packet Station, in Falmouth, joined forces with a local gym to stage a healthy lifestyle event at the pub.

Duty manager and event organiser Simon French linked up with Falmouth Leisure Centre, Ships and Castles, as part of the pub’s new menu launch.

Gym instructors were on hand at the pub to offer customers fi tness assessments, including measuring height, weight and BMI (body mass index), as well as taking part in a cycle challenge on an exercise bike in the pub.

The Packet Station offered samples from the new menu, as part of the national food festival, highlighting over 30 meals on the Wetherspoon menu with under 700 calories each.

Simon said: “The event was a real success – and it was a great chance to partner with the guys from Ships and Castles to promote healthy eating.”
