A total of 38 employees from the factory, warehouse, office and sales at Stoke-based Churchill, embarked on a 48-hour charity challenge, in aid of their local Douglas Macmillan Hospice.
From raw materials, workers at the factory made, decorated and fired a mug, while a team of runners ran a relay of 180 miles to the company’s showroom in Islington, north London, to deliver the mug in 48 hours – Churchill’s service promise to hospitality customers.
In addition to the race, Churchill also stopped off at Watford along the way, to say a huge thank you to J D Wetherspoon for all its business over the years.
Jerry Frost, Churchill’s director – national accounts, said: “Thanks to everyone for their support and for helping us to reach our target of £40,000 for Douglas Macmillan Hospice.”
