Staff and regulars at The White Swan, in Solihull, showed true community spirit to help an unlucky youngster, who’d been featured in the local newspaper.
Four-year-old Charley Eastough (pictured centre) had had his favourite birthday present (a Toy Story bicycle) taken from near to his school.
After reading about Charley’s misfortune, pub manager Dawn Lingley-Webster, members of her team and a handful of customers decided that they would raise the funds for a new bike.
A Mexican-themed fancy-dress weekend at the pub, along with cash collections, did the trick.
