The Wheatsheaf, in Cheadle, provided the venue for filming part of a BBC television programme.

A film crew, together with interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, spent the afternoon in the pub’s beer garden, as part of the BBC show ‘Celebrity Antiques Road Trip’.

The programme sees antiques experts partnering with celebrities and setting off on a road trip around the UK, searching for treasures and competing to make the most money at auction.

This celebrity episode saw Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, pictured centre with staff, up against art critic Waldemar Januszczak.

Mark Coltman (back, second left), shift leader at The Wheatsheaf, said: “It was a very busy day at the pub and especially in the garden, overlooking Cheadle church, but we were pleased to host the filming.”
