Wetherspoon pubs across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire have joined forces with a bus company and brewery to encourage drinkers to leave their cars at home.
Milestone Brewery has produced an ale called ‘No Brainer’, in support of bus firm Trent Barton’s Mango card.
The name of the beer reflects the bus company’s slogan, ‘no cash, no fuss, no brainer’, for its bus travel discount card. Card-holders are also entitled to 20-per-cent discount on food at the 35 Wetherspoon pubs across the region.
Alex Hornby, Trent Barton’s commercial director, said: “We think it a great way to remind people of the safe and sensible way to travel, while enjoying a drink at Wetherspoon.”
The beer was launched during the Wetherspoon Real Ale and Cider Festival at The Red Lion, in Ripley. Pictured are Wetherspoon area manager Gavin Gill (back centre), Mr Mango and staff at the pub.
Gavin said: “We were really impressed by the Trent Barton campaign and agree with the message that getting a Mango card is a real no-brainer.”
