The Parkstone and Heatherlands, in Winton, near Bournemouth, supported its local carnival, with a beer for the occasion.

The Mayor of Bournemouth, Cllr Philip Stanley-Watts, and Poole’s Town Crier, David Squire, were at the pub to launch the new ale, called ‘Winton Carnival’.

Brewed by Dorchester-based Dorset Brewing Company, the 4.0% ABV traditional bitter was available at all four Bournemouth pubs, in the run-up, during and after the carnival day, at the end of June.

The pub manager at The Parkstone and Heatherlands, Rob Stephens, pictured back left, with area manager Andy Winter (right), said: “We wanted to do our bit to help to promote the annual community event.

“The lovely people at Dorset Brewing Company were a great help, producing this beer exclusively for Wetherspoon – and we aim to serve it every year in the local pubs, to coincide with the carnival.”
