Wetherspoon’s pubs across Yorkshire and Humberside have joined forces to produce an exclusive new beer for the region.
Alex Campbell, pub manager at The Six Chimneys, in Wakefield, organised the initiative which saw a group of 10 members of staff visit Acorn Brewery to help to make the beer.
Ale champions from pubs in Pontefract, Castleford, Grimsby, Hull, Gainsborough, Scunthorpe and Goole, as well as Wakefield, travelled to the brewery in Barnsley.
Baxter’s Brew (4.7% ABV), named after Wetherspoon’s area manager Ross Baxter, is a deep ruby-red-coloured beer, available exclusively at pubs in his area.
