Pub manager Kirstin Downham has received support from Hawkshead Brewery, in her fund-raising efforts for a charity mountain climb.

Kirstin (pictured right), who runs The Milson Rhodes, in Didsbury, together with shift manager Leanne Pattison (centre) are set to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in October, in aid of CLIC Sargent.

The Cumbria-based brewery has produced a special ale, named Rhodes to Kilimanjaro, to help the pair in their fund-raising efforts.

Anne Jones (left), sales manager at Hawkshead Brewery, said: “For every pint of the beer sold we will be donating five pence to the fund-raising total.

“We are delighted to help Kirstin and Leanne in their challenge and raise funds for a great charity.”

The golden hoppy ale (4.4% ABV) will be permanently available at The Milson Rhodes, while the Wetherspoon outlets in Manchester will also serve it as a guest ale.

Kirstin said: “A huge thankyou to everyone at Hawkshead Brewery for their input into this fund-raising idea and to all of our customers for their continued support at The Milson Rhodes.”
