Staff and customers at The Rawson Spring, in Sheffield, welcomed two local boxers to the pub, for a prefight weigh-in session.

Doncaster’s Jamie McDonnell (right), the British, Commonwealth and European Bantamweight Champion, was there, ahead of his successful European title defence against Ivan Pozo of Spain.

Scarborough’s Danny Price (left), was also on the bill, at the nearby Hillsborough Leisure Centre, in a cruiserweight contest against John Anthony from Doncaster.

Bar associates Clair Bailey (left) and Lauren Whitehair took the opportunity to stage a charity cash collection at the event, raising £160 for CLIC Sargent.

Lauren said: “Jamie has been at the pub before, for a weigh-in, and our customers were delighted to see him here again.

“The boxers and officials spent almost an hour at the pub – and the event was filmed by SKY Sports News.”
