Pub manager Nick Maitland and his team at The Cricketers, in Ipswich, have been honoured in the town’s Best Bar None scheme.
The town-centre pub, in Suffolk, has been recognised as accredited premises in the 2010/11 awards.
The national scheme aims to promote responsible management and operation of alcohol-licensed premises.
A spokeswoman for the Best Bar None campaign told local newspaper the Ipswich Evening Star: “As a Best Bar None-accredited venue, it has met the standard of being exceptional premises.
“The staff, led by new manager Nick Maitland, are keen to go into bat against friendly Wetherspoon rival The Robert Ransome and raise their game still further.”
