The Blue Bell Inn, in Scunthorpe, showed its support, once again, for the town’s annual battle of the bands competition.
The Wetherspoon pub sponsored the 29th annual Scunthorpe Rock Open, for the third successive year.
The contest, launched in 1982, is the longest-running event of its kind in the north of England – and is promoted by the town’s newspaper The Scunthorpe Telegraph.
The 2010 final featured six bands from Boston, Huddersfield, Lincoln, Manchester, Scunthorpe and Sheffield.
Smiling Ivy, a five-piece funk-reggae combo, from Sheffield, won the first prize of £800 and a day’s recording studio session. Both of the runners-up, Lower Lands and 3 Hour Week, shared £700 between them.
