Representatives from five Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) branches across Wales joined together to celebrate a special milestone for a local brewery.
Brothers Bob and Paul Jenkins, from the Bullmastiff Brewery, in Cardiff, were presented with a certificate, by John Lamb from Cardiff CAMRA, to mark 25 years’ brewing.
The presentation evening, held at The Bears Head, in Penarth, where Bob and Paul are regular customers, was also attended by CAMRA members from Vale of Glamorgan, Swansea, Neath and Newport branches.
As well as their 25-year commemorative presentation, Bob was awarded a certificate to recognise his beer, Welsh Black, as Champion Beer of Wales in 2007.
Customers were able to sample Bullmastiff ’s Jubilee Ale on the night. The 5.0% ABV amber-coloured ale was produced to mark the brewery’s 25 years in production.
The Bears Head serves Bullmastiff ’s Son of a Bitch (SOB) permanently – a 6.0% ABV strong bitter.
Bob (pictured), who named the brewery after his love for Bullmastiff dogs, said: “It has been 25 years of bliss – and I could never see myself doing anything else. I’m looking forward to the next 25 years.”
