Travellers visiting Stansted Airport were treated to a fantastic selection of real ales, during a week-long beer festival at the airport’s Wetherspoon outlet.
The Windmill, situated after security, was showcasing seven ales from Essex-based Brentwood Brewing Company.
The brewery’s manager, Nigel Sadler, pictured front right, with Gavin Chester from Herts & Essex CAMRA, also visited the pub to host a meet-the-brewer event.
Among the beers on offer were Brentwood Gold (4.3% ABV), Dodo (4.0% ABV) and Marvellous Maple Mild (3.7% ABV), as well as Jolly Decent Wallop (5.2% ABV), brewed exclusively for Wetherspoon by Brentwood Brewing Company.
Duty manager Jo Salter, pictured left behind the bar with shift manager Steve Newby and duty manager Emma Jones, said:“People are often surprised that they can get a great pint of real ale at the airport – and, with this beer festival, we wanted to highlight our selection.
“It proved so popular that we are now looking to stage similar events at least twice a year.”
