Battling brewers are an increasingly common sight at Wetherspoon. It’s all in good fun, as brewers pitch their ales for customers to choose their champion.
A ‘battle of the brewers’ event, at The Ferry Boat, in Runcorn, showcased ales from four breweries.
The event, organised by shift manager Christian Greenlee (second right) and attended by members of the Halton Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) branch, featured beers from local producers.
The ales on offer were from Burnleybased Moorhouse’s Brewery, AllGates Micro Brewery in Wigan, as well as nearby 4T’s Brewery and Blue Ball Brewery, both in Runcorn.
Christian said: “The winner was 4T’s, proving the most popular with our regulars, with Moorhouse’s in second place, Blue Ball third and AllGates fourth.”
