Ale and art adds to local flavour

Local CAMRA member, artist and pub historian Mike Stevens combined all three of his passions to help to launch a beer festival at The Moon and Spoon, in Slough.
Mike, pictured, was commissioned by the pub to create two new pieces of artwork, one depicting the history of The Moon and Spoon and the other a modern artist’s impression of Slough High Street by William Redworth.
The artwork was unveiled by pub manager Lefter Mersini at the launch evening, attended by the Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead CAMRA branch.
Mike said: “The presentation received a very favourable response from staff and customers alike.”
Lefter said: “We are delighted to have Mike’s art on display in the pub – and the event was a very successful start to our beer festival.”
