At The Plaza, a very popular brewery showcased eight of its ales, during a five-day beer festival.

Shrewsbury-based Salopian Brewery, located just 35 miles from the pub in Rugeley, is a firm favourite with customers.

Among the beers on offer were Oracle (4.0% ABV), Darwin’s Origin (4.3% ABV), Hop Twister (4.5% ABV), Labyrinth (4.5% ABV), Lemon Dream (4.5% ABV) and Golden Thread (5.0% ABV).

A customer poll, to find the favourite ale, saw Oracle beat Hop Twister by just one vote.

A raffle, with Salopian Brewery T-shirts up for grabs, also raised £60 for CLIC Sargent.

Duty manager Dave Hough, pictured second right with (l to r) team leader Rebecca Hooley, bar associate Kelly Anderson and shift leader Aaron Lyon, said: “Salopian is most popular with our customers, because of the consistently high standard of its products.

“We always have at least one of Salopian’s beers available and thought that we would celebrate this great local brewery with a festival.”
