About this Hotel

This Wetherspoon hotel is in the centre of town, opposite the Welsh Bridge and River Severn. We have 22 individual bedrooms, many with a river view; please request when booking. All of our rooms are ensuite and include tea and coffee making facilities, a hair dryer and TV. FREE Wi-Fi is available in the bar area.

Directions

Approaching Shrewsbury from the A49: Go under the railway bridge and move into the right-hand lane. Turn right at the lights, taking you onto Smithfield Road. Turn left into Roushill, at The Salopian Bar. Move into the right-hand lane and turn right at the junction with Mardol. The entrance to the hotel's car park is 100 metres on your left. Approaching Shrewsbury from the A5 or the A458: Cross the Welsh Bridge, turning left into Smithfield Road. Turn right into Roushill, at the Salopian Bar. Keep in the right-hand lane and turn right at the junction with Mardol. The entrance to the hotel's car park is 100 metres on your left.

Car Parking

On-site parking is available (you will need to collect a permit from reception). Alternatively, pay-and-display parking is available in several nearby car parks. Your nearest car parks are Barker Street and The Tannery. FREE ON-SITE CAR PARKING SUBJECT TO AVAILABILTY.

Local Transport

Shrewsbury railway station is a five-minute walk from the hotel, with regular trains to Birmingham, Chester and Manchester. Shrewsbury bus station, with national links, is a five-minute walk from the hotel.

Local Attractions

The town itself, one of England's finest and best-preserved medieval market towns, provides a unique shopping experience with its variety of independent stores amid architectural splendour.

Local attractions a short drive away include the Iron Bridge Gorge and Severn Valley Railway. It is a Wroxeter Roman City - as shown recently on Channel 4's 'Rome was not built in a day'. Why not check out the local 'Theatre Severn', which is situated over the river from the hotel showing a diverse programme of live theatre, music, dance and comedy. Local guided town tours are available, these include river cruises, ghost tours and town walks.
