This grade II listed building was built in 1863, soon after Bridge Street was laid out.
We have 29 individual bedrooms. All of our rooms have an en suite shower (please note that there are no baths) and include tea- and coffee-making facilities, a hair dryer and TV.

Newport gets its Welsh-language name from the medieval castle built on the banks of the River Usk. The 14th-century fortress was known as ‘Castell Newydd’ (since shortened to Cas Newydd), meaning ‘new castle’.

This hotel adjoins a Lloyds No.1 bar which plays evening music; in certain rooms, some music may be heard during evening bar hours.
• Six meeting rooms are available, comfortably seating up to 10 each in our three small rooms; up to 25 each in our two larger rooms; up to 100 in our largest function room.
• Room hire: £30 per half day; £50 per full day.
• Tea, coffee and a wide range of refreshments are available at an extra charge.
• Buffets are available for delegates – please call the manager to discuss requirements. Alternatively, you can dine in Queen’s Hotel and select from our all-day menu.

Approaching from the M4 westbound: Exit at junction 25A, taking the first exit on the roundabout, Heidenhiem Drive A4042. Take the first slip road off Heidenhiem Drive, following signs for the town centre. At the next roundabout, second exit past Sainsbury’s; then at the next roundabout, third exit past the railway station – Queensway B4591. At the next roundabout, take the first exit, Bridge Street, and continue for approximately 150 metres. The Queen’s Hotel is on the right-hand side.
Approaching from the M4 eastbound: Exit at junction 26, taking the third exit on the roundabout, Malpas Road A4051. At the next roundabout, second exit past Sainsbury’s; then at the next roundabout, third exit past the railway station – Queensway B4591. At the next roundabout, take the first exit, Bridge Street, and continue for approximately 150 metres. The Queen’s Hotel is on the right-hand side.
