Team leader and floor supervisor Pat Haines has celebrated five years of service at The Figure of Eight.
Pat, who works five days a week at the Birmingham city-centre pub, has just one regret about her job – she wishes that she had joined Wetherspoon years beforehand.
Pat, 73, said: “I have been involved in the catering industry since the age of 17. I trained as a silver-service waitress and was head waitress for Birmingham’s manufacturing company Joseph Lucas & Son.
“Nowadays, my role at The Figure of Eight involves making sure that the customers are happy. I am responsible for keeping the front-of-house clean and tidy, ensuring that diners have everything that they require and generally keeping everything in order.
“The pub is like one big family, not just my work colleagues, but the customers too. I have made many wonderful friends during the past five years."
