An in-depth survey of 5,000 people in the UK who eat out has highlighted Wetherspoon as one of their most popular choices.

In fact, the company was listed second in the survey of leading brands used by consumers during a six-month period.

It also showed that 23 per cent of the customers surveyed visit a Wetherspoon pub at least once a month.

Wetherspoon was also highly ranked in a survey on spontaneous brand awareness, with one in three people being aware of the company and its pubs.

Separately, when those surveyed were prompted about Wetherspoon, almost nine in ten knew of the company and its pubs.

The survey also shows that the company has a broad appeal among all community sections.
