Historically, pubs have always been a focal point of any community and we aim to continue that tradition by supporting and building relationships with the local community, through employment and the provision of services and investment in the local area. We aim to provide good access for those with disabilities.
In the last year, the company has received several design awards for pub development, including the Scottish Toilet Design Awards (The Prestwick Pioneer, Prestwick) and FX Awards Best New Bar (The Cribbar, Newquay). In addition, the company has been recognised, at the Loo of the Year Awards 2013, for the quality of our toilet provision, including UK Winner (Individual Category entries), National Winner for Scotland (Individual Category entries), National Winner for Wales (Accessible Toilet entries) and the Champions League Standards of Excellence Award.
The company is the largest single corporate fundraiser for the CLIC Sargent charity (caring for children with cancer and their families), a partnership now in its ninth consecutive year, raising over £7.6 million to date, with a pledge to raise a further £1 million annually. During the past financial year, we have raised £1,606,163.
Here at Wetherspoon we are always striving to improve.
