Presenting… Super-chilled draught wine
Fetzer: The award-winning vineyard
Fetzer has become the most popular range of wines at Wetherspoon, since we first introduced the award-winning vineyard to the UK in 1998.
The Californian winery, in Mendocino County, is no stranger to innovation – winning a host of gold-medal awards for the quality of its wine and really setting the standards in organic farming and ecofriendly wine-making practices – and that all-important vote of approval from you, our customers.
Collectively, Wetherspoon’s customers have enjoyed over 75 million glasses of Fetzer over the years! So, little wonder that they were on hand to develop a packaging for the wine which would allow it to be ‘pulled through’ the cooling system.
Perfectly served wine
Fast forward past lots of head-scratching, prototyping and, oh, lots and lots of tastings – and the perfect-serve wine arrives at the bar.
We won’t bore you with all of the techie stuff: the key point is that, with draught wine, the temperature is continuously regulated to a perfect serve for white at 4–8°C and red at 18–22°C. There is no need for those approximate guesses – leaving you assured of a chilled glass of white wine on a hot day and a warm glass of red on a cold day.
We think that it’s a great result – but don’t take just our word for it – taste it for yourself.
